Important Notice

If you have to obtain a passport, you will find that you must have the New Certified Birth Certificate.   I spent 2 1/2 hours in line at the Post Office in Fontana only to be told I would have to go to Norwalk (I was born in L.A. County) and obtain a new certified copy of mine... I was not happy about this thought.  When I arrived in Norwalk I found about 250 people in line in front of me.....  After several hours in line and watching others get their copies, I paid my $17.00 and got a receipt for my troubles. I was told that anyone born before 1964 was not in the computers and would have their Certificate sent to them by mail within 2 to 3 weeks...

 I explained that I needed the Certificate to obtain a passport.... Too Bad.... 2 to 3 weeks.   Oh yes..... When you fill out the form for the Certificate, do not sign it until you are at the window and be sure to fill in your drivers license number, name and address below where you will sign your name...... Today those that had not done this were sent back to the end of the line...... A lot of mad people....

Payment must be made in cash or check, no plastic.....

Once you have the Certificate and file for the passport you will find it takes 3 to 5 weeks to arrive or for an extra $60.00 you can get one in three (3) days...... OR.... You can drive to L.A. and pay the $60.00 and drive home with a passport......
